As data has become more and more important to 21st century business’s it has moved from the back of the office towards the front. Its new role is influencing revenue models, biz models, customer and employee relationships; to name a few. With all of this happening why are we still struggling to find a seat in the front office? During this discuss we will discuss some of the challenges facing CDO’s in global organizations.


John Ladley is a recognized authority in all aspects of enterprise information management (EIM) with 30 years' experience in planning, project management, improving IT organizations and successful implementation of information systems. Prior to joining First San Francisco Partners in 2015, John was CEO and President of IMCue Solutions, a consultancy he founded in 2007. At IMCue, John lead a team focused on improving a client's business results through business intelligence, information management and data governance. John is widely published and his books, "Making EIM Work for Business – A Guide to Managing Information as an Asset and Data Governance" and "Data Governance - How to Deploy and Sustain a Data Governance Program" are recognized as authoritative sources in the EIM field. John frequently writes and speaks on a variety of technology and EIM topics.

Juan F. Gorricho is currently the Chief Data & Analytics Officer for Partners Federal Credit Union. In this role, Juan leads the data and analytics strategy development and execution for Partners, one of the top credit unions in the country, exclusively serving the more than 100,000 cast members of The Walt Disney Company. Juan has more than 15 years of experience in the data and analytics space including multiple speaking engagements. In his prior roles with Disney, Juan led multiple multimillion dollar projects to implement business intelligence and analytical solutions for key lines of business such as Labor Operations, and Merchandise. Juan has an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

Steve Rubinow brings 25+ years of technology leadership to his role as EVP and Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for leading Catalina’s global technology function, driving improvements to Catalina’s global enterprise architecture through technology development, implementation, and operation to deliver personalized digital media. Widely recognized as an innovative and transformational technology leader, Rubinow served as CIO for Thomson Reuters' Marketplaces Division prior to joining Catalina. He previously served as Chief Information Officer for the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Euronext for over a decade, upon its acquisition of Archipelago. Rubinow’s career also includes technology leadership roles with NextCard; AdKnowledge; Fidelity Investments; Budget Rent A Car; Quaker Oats and Continental Bank. Steve has authored several books on CIO/CTO leadership, and has been the recipient of numerous accolades. He was named one of the top 30 socially-savvy US CIOs in 2013 by Aternity for his use of social media, inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame in 2012, was named one of Computerworld magazine’s Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2012, was recognized as one of the top 10 CIOs on Wall Street in 2010 by Securities Technology Monitor magazine, and named one of the top CIOs on Wall Street in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 by Wall Street & Technology magazine. For many years, Rubinow served as an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University, where he earned an M.S. in Computer Science. His academic accomplishments also include four degrees from the University of Illinois, including a Ph.D. in Chemistry; an MBA in Marketing & Finance; an M.S. in Chemistry, and; a B.S. in Biological Sciences and Chemistry.

Barry Zane is VP of Engineering at Cambridge Semantics. He brings substantial product development experience and industry expertise in building large-scale products for data analysis. Prior to Cambridge Semantics, Barry was co-founder and CEO of SPARQL City where he served as VP of Technology, whose high performance scalable graph database technology has been acquired by Cambridge Semantics and integrated within its Smart Data Lake and other offerings. Previously, Barry was co-founder and CTO of Paraccel, a high performance scalable relational database system which provides the basis for Amazon Redshift. Paraccel was acquired by Actian Corporation as the Matrix product line. He was a co-founder and VP of Technology & Architecture at Netezza, which after a successful IPO, was acquired by IBM.
