Level:  Introductory

Data asset valuation has become a popular topic lately, attracting some of the most talented researchers and authors to offer new frameworks and methodologies. Practically speaking, it is not always clear how to employ these frameworks and methodologies to solve real-world problems and produce valuable insight.

This session will tell the story of data asset valuation from the perspective of a company that is applying these frameworks and methodologies to gain better insight into what data matters and to make better data investment decisions.

Topics will include how we obtained support to make an investment in data asset valuation, the approach we are taking, lessons learned so far, benefits achieved, problems we still face, and plans for the future.

The purpose of this session is not to promote any particular framework or methodology, but to share our experience so far and to encourage others to join us in embracing data asset valuation as a foundation for data strategy.
